Where I’ve Been: In August of 2017 I spent a week volunteering in the Gallatin National Forest's Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness building and maintaining trails. I had never hiked so many miles in such a short amount of time before. I got to work right along side the U.S. Forest Service, Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness Foundation and many other awesome volunteers. It was truly an experience of a lifetime.
Why I Hike: I love the excitement it gives me! The entire process, from planning the trip and picking what trail to conquer to reaching the summit or witnessing incredible views I have never seen before. I love it all! I become more alive and have a deeper connection with myself on the trails also.
Where To Next? I volunteer with American Hiking Society to build and maintain trails. I will be going on my 2nd volunteer vacation in 2018. Location TBA. I also am planning a trip to Glacier National Park because I want to see the glaciers before they are gone. I am also in the process of becoming a certified hiking guide!
