Obōz Footwear is a wholesale brand founded in 2007. Our home, Bozeman, Montana, is an outdoor adventurer’s paradise and is what motivates us to lace up daily to explore the 18 million acres of Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem that surround us. Bozeman also inspired our name: Outside + Bozeman = Obōz. The four points of our compass—People, Community, Foot and Experience—guide everything we do in staying “True to the Trail.” We also plant a tree for every pair of footwear sold and have since our beginning.

Obōz Footwear is looking for an International Sales Specialist to join the team!

 

Position Overview

This role is primarily responsible for coordinating the end-to-end Go-to-Market process for international partners and distributors.

The Oboz HQ is based in the US where most functions take place. This role connects the distribution partners outside of the US with the functional teams and processes that are US-based. Critical to this role is calendar management – so that key points of connectivity are in place for product feedback, pricing, purchase order placement, marketing support, etc.

The person in this position will understand the Go-to-Market process and timelines, be highly organized, facilitate cross functional connections, assist in ensuring the brand team thinks globally.



Role Responsibilities


Brand and Product

  • Embody the brand – be True to the Trail
  • Through brand, Shoe 101 and other training – understand our brand values, core product, what makes our footwear unique.
  • Product Knowledge: Understand the product line architecture, end use, and fit well enough to make recommendations to Dealers and Consumers.
  • The brand manages multiple seasons at once (current, next, future) – understand Go-to-Market, pre- and in-season management timelines and work:


Calendar Management

  • Create workback calendars from key deliverable or milestone dates.
  • Create a comms plan to support calendar awareness and adherence.
  • Understand and bring awareness to internal and external partners the impact to the distributors if any dates move.

 

Go-To-Market

  • The Go-to-Market process is a series of meetings, decisions and work that readies a seasonal product line for sell-in and launch.
  • Working with Go-to-Market process owners and the calendar, ensure the distributors are involved to provide market-relevant feedback and input.
  • Work with the CFO to review product pricing – ensuring appropriate margins can be maintained.
  • Per the salesman sample timeline, ensure order forms are created/available and demand is captured. With Operations, track the purchase orders to ensure timeline and accurate receipt of samples.

 

Pre-season Management

  • Ensure access is in place to all sell-in materials/collateral (sales, marketing, etc.).
  • With Product and Data teams, ensure access to all product-level details: style #s, UPCs, features and benefits, etc.
  • With Operations, identify the order deadlines per the inventory buy calendar – to ensure product is available in-countries for launch.
  • Place the ‘demand’ via sales orders in the ERP order management system to mirror the production orders.
  • Support the involvement of distributors at the seasonal brand sales meetings, including translations if needed, business review meetings, etc.
  • Support in-country regional and national (ISPO) trade show presence (timelines, samples, trade show booth coordination, budget, etc.).

 

In-season Management

  • Track the product orders, communicating any early- or delayed outbound shipments.
  • With Finance, understand distributor payment cadence and any impacts to outbound shipments, revenue realization.
  • Ensure sales orders in the ERP order management system are ‘invoiced’ appropriately.
  • Participate in weekly, monthly revenue forecasting – tracking and adjusting the revenue as needed based on inputs.

 

Other

  • Serve as the main liaison with our distribution consultant. Understand their role and responsibilities, keep the consultant informed, seek support as needed, etc.
  • With sales and executive leadership – understand the long-term strategic plan for global expansion. Develop and on-boarding process for new distributors.
  • Other responsibilities as defined.

Qualification & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, B.A. in Business or related field
  • At least five years’ experience in the outdoor industry, preferably as an assistant buyer, forecast analyst, or retail manager
