Photos, Hikes, and PhotoHikes!
In celebration of World Photography Day, this August we’re hitting the trail with our friends at Flickr! Together, we are inspiring photographers to take a hike, connect with nature, and capture the special moments along the way through an immersive outdoor event and global photo contest.
Our partnership with Flickr is united through a shared passion for the outdoors and open spaces. It’s no surprise that photographers rely on public lands and spaces to operate their businesses and capture incredible photos. Both Flickr and Oboz are proud members of The Conservation Alliance, reflecting our shared dedication to protecting wild places – for a long time to come!
Our celebrations kicked off on August 8 with a guided photo hike along San Francisco’s iconic Lands’ End Trail. Attendees were able to try out the new Hyalite Collection, hike with fellow photographers, and experience incredible views along the route.
And the fun continues...
The Global Photo Contest with Flickr kicked off on August 8 and runs through August 25. This year, there are five categories for contest submissions. Each one presents an opportunity to connect with other photographers and share your creation.
The categories are:
- Earth Unfiltered: Aerials, landscapes, seascapes, astrophotography, and more.
- Wild at Heart: Portraits, documentary, weddings, and lifestyle photography.
- Animal Kingdom: Images of wildlife, pets, and animals of all kinds.
- Built Environment: Urban scenes, architecture, and street life.
- Off the Map: Creative works that defy categorization.
Each category winner will receive a pair of Oboz shoes from the Hyalite Collection and a one-year Flickr Pro subscription.
