We’ve taken our popular Whakatā Puffy slipper up a notch, to above the ankle. The elevated engineered knit cuff will warm your ankles and keep drafts and blowing snow out. Slip into the Whakatā Puffy Mid camp shoe after slipping out of your ski boots for a cozy, comfy après at the trailhead or home in front of the fire.

Whakatā, pronounced fah-cah-TAAH, is Māori for “to catch breath, rest, have a break”. Oboz consulted and got approval from the Māori language and culture guide at Oboz’s New Zealand-based parent company, KMD Brands, for use of the name. Oboz intends to honor the Māori culture in the best way—both within KMD Brands’ company walls and in the broader community.

We use our own gender-specific lasts to address the anatomical nuances between different types of feet. Length runs true to size. Form hugging heel cup, sculpted mid-foot, and a generous forefoot & toe box.

Rates

We currently offer Standard shipping (4-7 business days) and Express shipping (2-3 business days). Our preferred shipping carrier is FedEx. We currently only offer shipping to the USA. No international shipping.

Orders outside of the contiguous United States will ship Standard only at an increased shipping rate.

Please allow up to 2 days after order is confirmed to receive shipping confirmation with tracking info. Unfortunately, we do not ship orders on weekends so orders made after 12pm MT on Fridays will ship out on the following Tuesday along with orders made over the weekend.

Love these light weight little boots!

"The shakers puffy line make great little boots. I have a low pair as well and use them for my commute to work when it’s been really cold or there is some light snow or slush. They are perfect. They keep my feet warm and dry but and light and comfortable as easy to put on and off. I do wish they had a slightly stiff heel so they could be slip on without having to pull up the back by hand but that is my only complaint."

Warmer than my shearling moccasins!

Hideous customer service

"I spent over $200 to get a pair of hiking boots and some cold weather after ski boots. The shoes all run small compared to every other brand. I was in my mountain home and so didn’t get to try them on until 30 days after they shipped. When I told the company they didn’t fit and I’d need to exchange for a half size bigger, they said “sorry it’s past 30 days”. Who does that? The shoes are unworn and only tried on indoors."

The Perfect Après Ski, Shoe!

"We can all agree that there is no better feeling at the end of a day on the slopes than getting out of your ski boots and slipping into your street shoes. The Whakata Puffy makes it that much better! The above ankle design is very comfortable and the integrated pull tabs make it an easy transition into comfort. The ""Puff"" material is warm and cozy and the foam sole makes for rewarding foot bed. I wear a mens 10. 5 US in most shoes and ordered the size 10 mens/12 womens. I will suggest getting the next size bigger as I found the Whakata's full size increments to be a bit small for my regular half size difference. Other than my sizing mishap, I've had nothing but love for my Puffy's, I'll definitely be ordering another pair if these ever wear out."
