I am a fourth generation Montanan who grew up with a deep passion for the outdoors but didn't start exploring until my late twenties. I truly enjoy teaching and inspiring others. I own a small business called Beyond The Backcountry here in Montana where I instruct in Wilderness First Aid, CPR & AED, wilderness prep, avalanche fundamentals, backcountry ethics and Leave No Trace principles. When I am not teaching you can find me out exploring our great area, working for the forest service as the wilderness ranger or writing about & photographing the history of Montana for Distinctly Montana Magazine.
