Obōz Footwear is looking for a Product Creation Coordinator to join the team!
About the role…
The role of Product Creation Coordinator, reporting directly to our Director of Product based in our office in Bozeman, Montana.
As the Product Creation Coordinator, you will directly work with and support the Product Development (PD) and Product Line Management (PLM) teams to create functional, performance footwear solutions that support and strengthen product initiatives. Your strong communication and organization skills, combined with growing footwear technical and merchandising knowledge, will help the PD and PLM teams successfully plan, merchandise, develop, test, and commercialize performance outdoor footwear.
Responsibilities:
Product Testing and Reporting
- Administrate and coordinate all aspects of fit, wear, and biomechanical testing based on seasonal calendar milestones and directives from the PD team.
- Plan and administer testing internally and with third parties.
- Recruit testers internally and through third-party testing service providers.
- Create test reports and present results to the PD team.
- Maintain test data in the PLM system.
Development Sample Coordination
- Order, track, ship, and communicate the status of all PD and commercialization samples.
- Organize and archive all PD samples internally.
- Purge obsolete PD samples.
- Communicate seasonal PD sample expectations to our factory partners.
Product Creation Process and Calendar Support
- Schedule and participate in seasonal PD meetings—team meetings, teardown meetings, costing meetings, etc.
- Play a lead role in setting up and transferring data to the PLM system.
- Create and coordinate development tech packs for low complexity seasonal projects—carry overs, color ups, SMUs, etc.
- Communicate as needed with internal and external teams: designers, product managers, product developers, operations team, Vietnam based staff, etc.
- Create and maintain seasonal costing documents.
- Organize and maintain PD electronic files.
Line Plan Support
- Work closely with the PLM and PD team to keep Line Plans updated with accurate data and information.
- Work closely with the PLM and Design team to keep Visual Line Plans updated at each color.
Go-To-Market Support
- Contribute to Go-To-Market meetings by supporting the PLM team with presentations and notetaking.
Consumer and Marketplace Insights
- Work closely with the PLM team to gather insights on consumer trends. Assist with the organization and facilitation of consumer focus groups.
- Perform marketplace analysis of the Outdoor, and adjacent/relevant, industries.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in the outdoor footwear industry, product testing, development, engineering, retail, customer service or some combination, is preferred.
- Basic understanding of footwear merchandising, planning, components, materials, fit attributes, and PD and PLM processes.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Project management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- A self-starter with problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and experience with Excel databases.
- Experience with PLM or similar type systems a plus but not required.
- Ability to travel (international and domestic) 1-2 times per year.
